NEW CELL PHONE POLICY AT SSHS - NUEVA POLITICA DEL USO DEL CELULAR EN SSHS

After completing a semester-long study and conducting research on cell phone use in schools, Steamboat Springs High School (SSHS) will implement a revised cell phone policy starting TODAY, January 13. This policy is a significant step toward fostering a more focused and supportive learning environment. The decision to implement this policy was driven by studies and feedback from educators, parents, and students highlighting the negative impact of excessive cell phone use on students’ mental health and academic success. We are eager to minimize distractions so we can boost academic performance, support mental health, and foster healthy social connections. On Jan 9th, we had a school-wide assembly where students learned more about this policy.

Después de completar un estudio de un semestre de duración y realización de investigaciones sobre el uso del teléfono celular en las escuelas, Steamboat Springs High School (SSHS) pondrá en práctica una política revisada teléfono celular a partir del lunes, 13 de enero. Esta política es un paso importante hacia el fomento de un ambiente de aprendizaje más centrado y de apoyo. La decisión de implementar esta política fue impulsada por los estudios y la retroalimentación de los educadores, padres y estudiantes que destacan el impacto negativo del uso excesivo del teléfono celular en la salud mental de los estudiantes y el éxito académico. Estamos ansiosos por minimizar las distracciones para poder mejorar el rendimiento académico, apoyar la salud mental y fomentar conexiones sociales saludables. El 9 de enero, tendremos una asamblea en toda la escuela donde los estudiantes aprenderán más acerca de esta política.
