Shop City Market & Help SSHS

Let's help SSHS clubs, classrooms and school projects by shopping at City Market!  Every year City Market's Community Rewards Program contributes to local non-profits based on the purchases of their rewards members.  SSHS can earn these dollars just by having our parents, teachers and staff register their City Market rewards card to SSHS.  This does not charge anything to you, or affect your gas points, rewards, or coupons.  City Market will contribute a percentage of purchases made to the SSHS PIC (Parent Information Committee), which in turn, funds clubs, teacher/classroom requests and school projects.  The SSHS PIC recently used these dollars raised over the years to purchase additional picnic tables (located in the front of the school), a bike rack, nurse's supplies, school snacks, 3 lunchroom microwaves and monies for the 2018 After Prom.  If more families sighed up, just think what we could do for our school!  To be part of the program, City Market requires YEARLY enrollment and December begins the enrollment month for 2018.  So please, go to to enroll and designate SSHS PIC as your charity.  You can have relatives that shop at a Kroger store anywhere in the country do the same.  Thank you for your support of our school.

Current Student Census Verification

Every year, parents/guardians are asked to complete census verification forms and update waivers and releases for their students and return them to the school office.  For the 2017-2018 school year, we have "gone green" and moved to online forms to replace the paper documents you would receive in the beginning of August.  Instead, you can choose to update your household information sometime during the summer months (at the end of each school year through September of the following school year if you know a move will not take place) through the census verification process online through your IC parent portal account.  PLEASE DO NOT USE YOUR STUDENT'S ACCOUNT!  Just------------------------

Click the District icon on the upper left corner of this page--
Click the Online Enrollment & Census Verification (Red Box)--
Scroll down under Current Students on the left hand side--

Alive At 25

Students at the Steamboat Springs High School are required to complete the 4.5 hour Alive At 25 Defensive Driving Course if during their junior and senior years they wish to park a vehicle on campus, or apply for Open Campus privileges at lunch time.

The Alive At 25 Defensive driving class is a 4.5 hour program using instruction, discussion, and videos to introduce students to the problems young drivers might encounter and provide them with strategies to help them deal with those problems.

This class meets the requirements of those new drivers at least 15.5 years of age who have not taken a formal driver's education class and want to apply for their Learner's Permit.   And some insurance companies will offer reduced rates for young drivers who have completed the class.

Students can register and pay the class fee online at, where they can also find class dates, times and locations, or by calling our Denver office at 720-269-4046.

Students who may need help with the class fee must contact instructor Dennis J. Hensen at, or 970-871-3685 before registering for a class in order to apply for funds provided by the Grand Futures, which will pay the class fee for students living in Routt County.
