Summer Reading, Extended School and Summer School
Completion of Summer Assignments are required for the following courses:
AP Spanish AP Photography AP English Lit & Comp AP US History

Please check your student schedule to verify if you have been placed in one or more of these courses. It is the responsibility of the student to collect the reading list and complete the assignments.
EXTENDED SCHOOL 2017-2018
Extended School is typically offered each summer for students needing to earn credit after having failed one of the following classes with a 40%-59% and teacher recommendation:
World Geography Civics English 9 ESP (Earth Space Physical Science)
American Literature World Literature American History World History
Students can earn .5 credit (1 semester) per course with a grade of "P" for Pass. No credit is given if "F" is earned during extended school.
In order to attend Extended School, students must agree to the following:
•Attend ALL class sessions and be on time
•Demonstrate appropriate behavior and use class time as instructed
•Complete homework that will be assigned daily
•Register and pay fees per course
Extended School Application
Students have expressed interest in using the summer months to attain some of the required credits to graduate from SSHS. SSHS will still require students in grades 9-11 to be scheduled in 7 full classes each semester and seniors to be scheduled a minimum of 6 classes in the fall / 4 in the spring.
Healthy Living (0.5 Health credit)
Financial Literacy (0.5 Personal Financial Literacy)
Lifetime Summer School 10-12 grade only - (0.5 Lifetime credit or PE Elective credit) - this course is offered through Winter Sports Club.
Space is available on a first come first serve basis with the application deadline of June 5th.
Summer School Application 2018 - registration for summer school ends June 5,2018.
